Seattle's Seafair Fleet Week

Seattle's Seafair Fleet Week

Last week Seattle got a chance to thank the men and women who serve their country on the high seas. According to the Seafair website, there were “vessels and personnel from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy.” The Blue Angels also showed up, putting on incredible shows over the city. I’ll never understand how they do what they do.
I was downtown on 3 August 2017 to say goodbye to my parents, so caught some of Fleet Week with a walk by the waterfront and Pike Place Market before making my way to Westlake Station for a ride back to Capitol Hill. It was great seeing a few of the ships and the service members. Thank you for your service, and sorry for the losses on the USS Fitzgerald.

I’ve included a few quick snapshots, including a couple of the Blue Angels later in the week. (It has been really hot here, with poor air quality because of the fires in British Columbia.)
