I can’t remember if I ever posted this image. When I moved from WordPress to Squarespace the transfer brought with it a lot of drafts that I’d forgotten about. It’s possible that I posted it in a separate piece. I see the image every time I open Squarespace, so I figured I’d go ahead and post it rather than delete it.

I took this photo at a protest on 28 January 2017 at Seattle Tacoma International Airport. I’m not going to add any more context. I’ve been trying to crack the code on the freelance photojournalism industry for a while. I’m not sure where that road is leading, but I have got a few images I am happy with professionally. This is one of them. I think there’s a compelling narrative that doesn’t require any explanations. The flip-side is that anyone could use this image to support his/her perspective.
