Three Sacks Full

Three Sacks Full

Online advertising works pretty well sometimes. I saw an ad in The Stranger or on Instagram (or both) for Three Sacks Full, a pop-up restaurant that alternates between Bar Ferdinand in Capitol Hill and La Medusa in Columbia City. I spent a couple of minutes reading the chef’s backstory and decided to walk over for some food.

I had the spring turnip and white bean ragout with slow roasted oyster mushrooms, spring onions, and purple mizuna. It was delicious. I’m not sure if I’ve ever had oyster mushrooms before. I thought they made the dish. I wish I’d ordered some bread to go along with it, but I was eating alone, and I know I’m not great at not eating all the bread. I guess I could have asked them for half an order of bread, but I don’t think I’m capable of doing that. Maybe they automatically adjust the bread portion based on the number of people. Note to self – ask questions. I also had an Estrella Damm lager from Barcelona, which was great.
