Serene

Most of us have favorite watering holes or neighborhood restaurants. Seattle has a ton of great options. I live in Capitol Hill, and I’m fortunate to have several places that make locals feel right at home: Corvus, Deluxe, Bait Shop, and Witness.

They’re all great places, but I’m a little partial to Corvus. In my two years in Seattle, I’ve gotten to know the staff, the owners, and a lot of neighborhood dogs…I mean locals. They work hard at making it a welcoming, low-key place. They also make some delicious food. Serene runs that side of the house. She works all the time, has years of experience in the food industry, and always makes time to say hello to people and ask how they’re doing. I took this photo of her in the kitchen last night.
